Thanks to those who share a commitment to developing sound public policy that benefits all Texans, the Legislative Study Group has played a key role in the Texas House during the past seven legislative sessions.
The Texas House LSG Members thank you.
Help us keep the LSG working year-round. We can no longer afford to operate for only five months every two years if we want to maintain the staff expertise and continuity necessary to analyze and advance policy proposals put forth during the legislative interim. The past session has seen the LSG grow to a formidable force in the Capitol. As the House caucus with the largest staff during session, the LSG is a valuable resource to members.
LSG produced a daily publication for members and staff that condensed every piece of legislation up for debate on the House floor into a succinct evaluation of the impact on Texas families. By working with interest groups, businesses, labor organizations and advocates the LSG analyzed and evaluated legislation with an eye on what would benefit Texas families the most.
The future of Texas relies on sound public policy, and that begins with sensible, solutions-oriented approaches to the issues facing Texas families. A year-round LSG staff will monitor interim committee activities, court cases related to issues like health care, and agency rulemaking to help members communicate to their constituents and advance policy proposals through meetings, briefings, reports and an updated LSG Web site.
Today, we are asking for your financial commitment to help us maintain LSG’s pivotal role during the interim period of the 80th Legislative Session.
Your commitment and past contributions have allowed the LSG to track and analyze legislation and produce daily floor reports for seven sessions. With your continued support, we can make an even greater contribution to the public policy debate that continues after the Legislature adjourns.
Thank you,
Rep. Garnet F. Coleman, Chair, Legislative Study Group
As a non-profit, non-partisan organization, the LSG can accept corporate and union dues funds. Won't you contribute today?

With the 80th Legislative Session behind us, the Legislative Study Group House Caucus (LSG) has had a profound impact on public policy in our state. Thanks to those who share a commitment to developing sound legislation, the LSG has grown considerably and continues to play a key role in policy debates in the Texas House of Representatives.
The LSG wrote thousands of detailed analyses and evaluations on legislation before the House. With your generous assistance we were able to surpass our goals and hire ten full time policy analysts to monitor the work of the Legislature. Every House committee that met had an LSG staff member present, gathering information on legislation. House members received a daily, detailed publication that evaluated every single bill up for debate on the House floor.
Again, this new level of accomplishment would not have been possible without your generous support. LSG will continue to monitor developments in public policy and advocate for sensible, solutions-oriented approaches to the issues facing Texas families.
Should you have any questions, or if we can provide you with any assistance, please feel free to contact us at Info@TexasLSG.org.
Thank you,
Rep. Garnet F. Coleman, Chair, Legislative Study Group
