A History of Success

By arming members with accurate information, the LSG has become a vital asset in many key legislative battles, including: protecting key teacher rights and benefits; protecting and strengthening our public schools by defeating proposals to send our tax dollars to private schools; and strengthening the effort to stop cuts to the CHIP program.

Progress For Texans

Established in 1995, the Legislative Study group is designed to help members make informed public policy decisions based on accurate and informed bill evaluation. In addition, LSG members receive daily floor reports that have proven invaluable in helping members prepare for floor debate.

“Our goal is to ensure that state government develops mainstream solutions to the real problems facing our state, by fostering sound public policy that serves the best interest of all Texans."
